Margaret started riding as a child at Happy Horse Riding School in Davis, California. When she was thirteen, she joined the newly formed Panache Pony Club and progressed through her C-3 rating before she started college. During her time in Pony Club, Margaret qualified annually for Pony Club Nationals in multiple disciplines. She earned two silver medals in Knowdown and a Gold Medal on the 1992 Nationals West Eventing Team. Margaret earned a BA from Saint Mary’s College of California in Integral Liberal Arts. She spent her junior year abroad at Oxford University. She is a graduate of University of Idaho, College of Law and successfully sat for the 2000 Idaho State bar. Margaret served as a Major in the United States Marine Corps, flying CH-53E helicopters. During her service in the Marine Corps, she deployed to Africa and Iraq. Throughout college, law school, and her career in the Marine Corps, Margaret has continued riding, teaching, and training. She has extensive experience starting young horses. She has competed in Hunters, Dressage and Eventing. Her instructors have included Brian Sabo, David Adamo, Herman Koopmans, John Lassetter, Christine Scarlet, Denny Emerson, Michelle Folden, David O'Brien, and Christan Trainor. Now located in Southern Maryland, Margaret trains with Mogie Bearden-Muller.
